📜 West Ham United Women History
West Ham United Ladies – as they were known at the time – were founded in 1991 by Hammers community officer Roger Morgan, although a team of the same name had briefly operated back in the 1970s.
The Irons progressed through various regional divisions over the years, and in 2009 they won their first silverware in the Essex FA County Cup, which they picked up again in 2011.
In 2018, they reached the top tier of English women's football, the Women's Super League, and subsequently changed their name from West Ham United Ladies to West Ham United Women.
The following year they reached the Women's FA Cup final for the first time, but they were defeated 3-0 by Manchester City in the Wembley showpiece.
