The Roadrunners are the football team of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). They compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the NCAA and play in the West Division of Conference USA (CUSA).
UTSA is one of the newer football programs in the FBS, as the Roadrunners played their first ever game in 2011. Plans for the expansion of the university's athletic departments began in 2006, and the team started out as an Independent in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). In 2012, UTSA was accepted as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in the FBS, and in 2013 they moved again to CUSA. Since that move, the Roadrunners have won 1 CUSA Conference Championship in 2021.
In 2023, UTSA will changed conference once more to join The American.
The Roadrunners play their home games at the Alamodome.
