With everything from old factories to old plantations, Bethlehem is bursting with the landmarks alluding to the region’s heritage. It’s therefore most suited to those that are looking for a more cultural Lehigh Valley experience. Being close to Lehigh University, Bethlehem is probably the coolest part of the valley to visit too.
Sitting on the Pennsylvania/ New Jersey border where the Lehigh and Delaware River meet, Easton is perhaps the most charming of the three cities. It offers quaint cafes and shops, an abundance of nature, and best of all, those classic small-town vibes. Plus, it’s super accessible to New York City, and the other must-see cities along the Northeastern Seaboard.
Alternatively, opt for one of the rustic small towns and boroughs that surround the three cities and the lehigh Valley region like Northampton, Nazareth, and Hellertown where you will find the Lost River Caverns.
Being spread between three cities, Lehigh Valley is definitely best explored with a car.
