Harrah's Cherokee Center, previously known as the U.S. Cellular Center and Asheville Civic Center Complex, is a multipurpose sports and entertainment venue located in Asheville, North Carolina, hosting concerts, basketball games, graduations, and expos.
History
The venue has been a focal point for entertainment in Asheville since it opened back in 1974.
It hosted a number of World Championship Wrestling events in the 1990s, including Clash of the Champions XII, SuperBrawl III, and Monday Nitro, and over the years it has served as the home of several local hockey and basketball teams, including the Asheville Smoke, Asheville Altitude, and Asheville Aces.
In 2018, it held a Fed Cup tennis tie featuring Serena and Venus Williams representing the United States against the Netherlands.
Since 2021, it has hosted the Asheville Championship NCAA basketball tournament.
