Simons Theatre

The Simons Theatre, formally the Matthew and Marcia Simons Theatre, is a large-format cinema and event theatre at the New England Aquarium on Central Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts. It presents immersive 2D and 3D films, particularly nature and ocean-focused documentaries, and can also be hired for private screenings, presentations and other events. Concerts have also been staged in the auditorium.

Opened in 2001 as a dedicated IMAX venue in a separate Aquarium building, it became an important part of the waterfront attraction. A major renovation completed in 2020 replaced its IMAX system with advanced laser projection, introduced a new giant screen and updated the seating. The theatre now has 378 seats and a 1,600-square-foot stage.
