The Orpheum Theatre opened its doors on November 19, 1852, initially as the Boston Music Hall. It was the original home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Over decades, it saw changes and renovations, including a transformation into a vaudeville theatre in the early 20th century. In 1971, the theatre was renamed the Orpheum and focused on rock and contemporary music. The venue has seen performances from prominent artists and has played a significant role in Boston’s entertainment and cultural history.
