About Cross Insurance Arena

The Cross Insurance Arena is a multi-purpose venue in Portland, Maine. It opened in 1977, then known as the Cumberland County Civic Center, and underwent significant renovations between 2012 and 2014 to bring the arena up to modern standards. It can house up to 9,500 spectators for concerts. Elvis Presley was due to play at the venue on 17 August 1977, but was found dead in his home the day before. The venue is currently the home of the Maine Mariners ice hockey team.
