🅿️ Parking

Onsite parking is available for all events at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex, where Legacy Arena is situated. Red, Orange, Gold, Purple and Silver lots surround the venue, leaving guests less than 500 m (6 min) from the entrance. Parking generally costs $20 to pay on the day.

🚖️ Taxi

Legacy Arena's rideshare pick-up/drop-off point can be found on the corner of 10th Avenue North and 18th Street North.

🚍 Coach & Bus

Max Transit buses serve stations close to Legacy Arena multiple times a day. One of the easiest ways to reach the venue is to catch either a Route 18 or Route 40 bus from Central Station in downtown Birmingham, and disembark at 19th St N and 10th Ave N, directly outside the arena.

Birmingham is a small city with a big selection of accommodation from budget hostels to plush 5-star hotels. Most parts of the city can be reached on foot in no time at all, but for longer distances, it’s easy to rely on the city buses.

📍 Where To Stay

Although Downtown is the priciest locale in Birmingham, it’s ideal for first-time visitors who want to see the sights on foot. The best of its museums, landmarks, shops, and restaurants are all within its central streets. For some more affordable sleeping options, look into Fountain Heights situated immediately west of Downtown.

Whilst a number of the city’s attractions can also be found in Druid Hills, a modern Uptown neighbourhood directly north of the historic Downtown, this area is best known for its evening entertainment. Not only is it populated with ever-buzzing bars and restaurants, the area hosts concerts, events, and Broadway shows.

Southside and Lakeview merge to form Birmingham’s ever-growing hipster district. With everything from craft breweries to farmers’ markets and independent retailers, it is a world away from the commercial feel of the city centre.

As a university district, Five Points South is filled with restaurants, bars, and clubs, that promise a full belly and a fun time. From fine-dining restaurants to sports bars and rave clubs, there’s something for every night owl in this section of the city.

Families might prefer Redmont Park and English Village, which may be just minutes from Downtown, but offer a more laid-back Alabama lifestyle. With a golf course, botanical gardens, and zoo, there’s plenty for all ages to do outdoors.

About Legacy Arena

Legacy Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

📜 History

Birmingham's Legacy Arena is located on the Birmingham–Jefferson Convention Complex. The arena was formerly known as the BJCC Coliseum and the BJCC Arena.

Opened in September 1976, Legacy Arena stands 10-stories high, with a four-sided center-hung scoreboard and several luxury suites. The multi-purpose venue has been home to a number of sports teams through the years, including the World Hockey Association's Birmingham Bulls, and the Arena Football League's Alabama Steeldogs.

Today, Legacy Arena's most high-profile tenants are the Birmingham Squadron, an NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans. The venue is also a regular stop for professional wrestling shows like WWE's Monday Night Raw.

Along with numerous in-house food and drink outlets at Legacy Arena, the nearby Uptown Entertainment District boasts seven restaurants, including Uptown Cantina, Texas de Brazil, and Southern Kitchen and Bar. All concession stands within Legacy Arena are cashless.

💂 Entry Gates

The main entrance for Legacy Arena is located at the ramp on the corner of 19th Street North And 9th Avenue North.

Legacy Arena welcomes guests with disabilities and their assistive animals. Wheelchair accessible seating can be found in most odd numbered sections of the lower level (Section 100).
