The Southbank area, which is the name given to the district located across the Skeldergate Bridge from the city centre, is a great place to consider if you would like to truly feel like a local or are a family looking for a quieter place to stay. Southbank is anchored by the charming shops of Bishopthorpe Road and leafy Rowntree Park and while “brand” hotels are not common in Southbank, there is plenty of cosy bed & breakfasts located here.
