Considered the historical county town of Surrey, Guildford is one of the more comprehensive places to stay and provides visitors with hotels, B&B and self-catering, as well as camping. The town is connected to London by rail and is only a stone’s throw from the M3 and A31 for road links.
For those looking for something slightly different, the market town of Dorking – close to Box Hill and Leith Hill – is home to the Denbies Estate with Denbies Vineyard Hotel. It is the first of its kind in England and offers cabana-style seating areas with fantastic views and home-grown wine.
In a similar, yet perhaps more traditional ilk, some of the smaller towns and villages of Surrey such as Hambledon and Coldharbour provide pubs with rooms; a great excuse to try some local ales.
Epsom has a number of hotels for those travelling to the racecourse, but books up quickly around the popular meetings. Chertsey, Egham, and other places surrounding Wentworth Golf Club provide various hotels.
