Most accommodation is located within the city centre itself, around Old Market Square and the Royal Centre. This is the commercial hub of the city where all the most popular restaurants and shops are located.
Hockley and Lace Market, also in the city centre, are the younger and trendier parts of Nottingham. Lace Market offers plenty of chic boutiques and restaurants, while Hockley, the Creative Quarter is all about vintage shops, second-hand bookshops, alternative pubs, bars, and music venues.
If transport is a priority, stay south of the Nottingham Canal where Nottingham Train Station is located. The train provides links to Greater Nottingham and the rest of the UK. From here, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the commercial centre and all local attractions.
To enjoy the quieter side of Nottingham, head to Wollaton, an affluent city suburb near Wollaton Hall and Gardens.
A tram runs through the city centre from north to south, providing easy access to many of the inner city micro-neighbourhoods and landmarks.
