The Gregson Centre

If you’re looking for an affordable city base from which to explore northwest England, central Lancaster is the perfect place to stay since it is within a reasonable driving distance from Windemere and the Yorkshire Dales. Plus, the city itself offers top dining and nightlife, as well as heritage and culture.

Beach-lovers might prefer to stay in the small and understated seaside town of Morecambe located just a 10-minute drive from Lancaster or near Silverdale just a few kilometres north. While Morecambe offers everything you can expect from a quaint seaside resort town, Silverdale is more of an off-the-beaten-path destination.

Alternatively, opt for a cute countryside cottage in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales or a lake view terrace on the shores of Lake Windemere to fully immerse in the undulating landscapes of England’s revered northeast countryside.
