When it comes to shopping, dining, and nightlife, Chester city centre is the place to be. Keen tourists will be well-situated here too as many cultural highlights are within walking distance, including the city walls, Roman amphitheatre, and River Dee.
Being surrounded by a number of other great cities like Liverpool and Manchester, you may prefer to stay near Chester Station located a kilometre north of the city centre which enables you to explore further.
Alternatively, you can stay in one of these neighbouring cities and simply get the train into Chester whenever you want to explore or see a sporting event. Liverpool is a cultural port city known for its Premiere League football teams and the Beatles. Manchester, meanwhile, is a buzzing student city with top nightlife and alternative shopping.
Of course, there’s also plenty of cute cottages, farms, campsites, and more awaiting in the serene surrounding countryside — and with both the Welsh and English countryside in Chester’s back yard, you’re spoilt for choice.
