Driving is the most popular way to reach the venue because of its rural location and free car parking. If you’re looking to use public transport, connect at Newmarket town and take a shuttle bus or taxi to the racecourse.

There is an ample amount of public parking and free for all attendees of the race meeting. There is sometimes a Premier car park in use where you can pay on arrival to be closer to the entrance. Please note that all parking is on grass, so it can be unstable underfoot.
Accessible Blue Badge parking is available in the Premier and public car parks. If extra assistance is required from your car to the course entrance, car parking attendants can radio for a golf buggy.
There are 4 electric charging points located in the Annual Badge Holders’ Car Park to the left of the Premier Enclosure. The service is available for free on racedays.
Coach parking is free. Private Hire coaches should enter the racecourse via Gate 4 from A1303. Coach drivers must complete a Newmarket Racecourses Coach Driver Security Form. If a coach leaves the site and comes back for pick-up, the coach must be back in the car park no later than half an hour before the start of the last race.
A taxi rank is located outside the Premier Enclosure, in front of the Annual Badge Holders’ car park. Newmarket taxis are recognisable for their black and yellow appearance.
A private hire car pick-up and drop-off area is located outside the Premier Enclosure, in front of the Annual Badge Holders’ car park on the right-hand side as you exit the Premier Enclosure.
There is a free shuttle bus service from Newmarket town centre and Newmarket Train Station on racedays. This service does not need to be pre-booked.
Outrider coach services can be booked when purchasing admission tickets. These services provide return travel from Cambridge Train Station, Bury St. Edmunds Train Station, and Ely (via Soham & Fordham) for most racedays.
Cambridge is considered an affluent city and many of its central hotels reflect that. However, there is a full range of accommodation styles and prices to suit every taste and budget.
The Rowley Mile has a vast range of food and drinks vendors from The Bistro in the Premier Enclosure to the Frankel Champagne & Seafood Bar in the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure. The course is also home to numerous street food outlets, providing a festival atmosphere.
No food or drink can be brought into the hospitality, Premier, or Grandstand & Paddock enclosures. Picnics are popular and can be consumed in car parks or in the Garden Enclosure (when it is open). Alcohol can only be brought into the Garden Enclosure with a substantial picnic and is limited to one bottle of wine or Champagne per person or 4 cans of beer, cider, or pre-mixed aperitif per person.
The Rowley Mile can be reached by the Cambridge/Ipswich Line operated by Abellio Greater Anglia. Get off at Newmarket Train Station and take the free shuttle service from outside the train station to the racecourse.
The Rowley Mile Racecourse is a 2.5 km (30 min) walk from the centre of Newmarket where you will find a range of shops, bars, and eateries.
There are 3 main entrances with at least 2 in use on most racedays. Please use the signposted entry gate that matches your ticket e.g. Premier Entrance for Premier Enclosure ticketholders.
Ticket collection for all enclosures is located next to the Grandstand & Paddock turnstile entrance. Hospitality tickets can be collected at Premier Entrance 1.
Toilet facilities are located throughout the enclosures with main facilities by the Premier Entrance, by the Garden Enclosure Entrance, in the main grandstand, and next to the Frankel Lounge.

The Rowley Mile hosts a range of flat racing fixtures from April to May and September to November. Fixtures can be on a single day or they can last for several days, and each raceday will feature about 7 races and a wide range of entertainment, food, and drink off the track. The Rowley Mile ticket prices vary depending on a number of factors including the event, the enclosure the ticket is for, and the seller. For example, tickets for the Premier Enclosure offering greater access around the course will be more expensive than those for the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure. Similarly, Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure tickets may be more expensive on a Guineas Festival raceday than at one of the smaller fixtures. It is sometimes possible to buy tickets at the Rowley Mile on the day of the event. However, this is subject to availability on the day and you risk not being able to enter. Buying your ticket online is generally the most reliable and convenient way to secure your tickets and ensure you get the admission you want and know the price upfront.
The Rowley Mile offers an ample amount of public parking which is free for all attendees of the race meeting. Traffic around the course builds up at peak times, so early arrival is advised to avoid delays getting into the venue. Gate opening times at the Rowley Mile vary by event, but usually open around 1-2 hours before the first race. For some events, you can find the gate opening time on Koobit by viewing the event’s Schedule tab. Timings should also be confirmed on your tickets when you receive them.
