Formed by the Old City and Cabot Circus along the River Avon, Bristol city centre, is the city’s commercial shopping district. Here you’ll find the majority of the city’s top shops, restaurants, bars, and hotels. The area is expensive but offers the best of Bristol.

Harbourside, located immediately west of the centre, is a quieter and more quaint area for families to stay whilst still being super central. The waterfront location boasts its own cohort of cool bars and restaurants, and benefits from an exciting range of river-based family activities including paddle-boarding and rowing.

Alternatively, take your family to Clifton, a refined suburb on the edge of Bristol, which offers a typical English country vibe and lots of green space.

Wapping Wharf, on the bank opposite Harbourside, is like its cooler younger sister. Slightly less refined, slightly more edgy, and still very central – a popular choice for young professionals.

Immerse in the city’s cultural side on Stoke Croft and Gloucester Road, just north of central Bristol, where you’ll find its most alternative shops, bars, and people. Head here for an exciting and memorable night out; its raves do not disappoint.

Bristol is a real small city, making it really easy to explore on foot, although some of its hills can be a bit of a challenge. For those who’d prefer to take it easy, there are reliable public inner-city buses which run regularly.
