Udinese Calcio - more commonly known simply as Udinese - is an Italian professional football club based in Udine in the north of the country and currently playing in Italy's top tier Serie A. The club plays home games at Stadio Friuli.
Founded in 1896 as part of the Udinese Society of Gymnastics and Fencing (Società Udinese di Ginnastica e Scherma), the club has seen varying degrees of success across the tiers of the Italian football system including winning several Serie B and Serie C titles.
