Tulsa claims 35 conference titles, from periods in a number of different conferences. After spells in the Oklahoma Collegiate Conference, the Big Four Conference, and the Missouri Valley Conference, the Golden Hurricane competed as an independent team between 1986 and 1995. They then joined the Western Athletic Conference, followed by Conference USA and, since 2014, the American Athletic Conference.
