Tori Amos, born Myra Ellen Amos in Newton, North Carolina, United States, is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. Early in her career she also performed as "Ellen Amos" and under the alias "Tess Makes Good". A classically trained prodigy, she moved from conservatory studies to the club circuit, developing a distinctive piano‑based style that blends alternative rock, chamber pop, pop rock and electronic elements.
