The Last Dinner Party, previously known as "The Dinner Party", are an English indie rock band from London, England. Formed in 2021 after its members met at King’s College London and within the Windmill scene, the quintet comprises Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies and Aurora Nishevci.
Their music blends "indie rock", "art rock" and "baroque pop", pairing theatrical arrangements with ornate melodies and literary lyrics. They built their reputation on London’s live circuit before signing to Island Records and releasing their debut single "Nothing Matters" in 2023, which became a breakout hit and introduced their luxuriant, maximalist aesthetic.
In 2024 they issued their debut album "Prelude to Ecstasy", which topped the UK Albums Chart and earned widespread acclaim, a Mercury Prize nomination, the BRITs Rising Star award and the BBC Sound of 2024 title. Their second album "From the Pyre" followed in 2025, showcasing darker, more cinematic songwriting across singles such as "Sinner", "My Lady of Mercy", "The Feminine Urge" and "This Is the Killer Speaking", and helping secure a BRIT Award for Best New Artist.
