The Black Crowes, originally known as "Mr. Crowe's Garden", are a rock band from Atlanta, United States. Led by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, they fuse Southern rock, blues rock, hard rock, roots rock and a jam-band sensibility into a soulful, guitar-driven sound.
Formed in 1984, they broke through with their 1990 debut album "Shake Your Money Maker", which produced signature singles such as "Hard to Handle", "She Talks to Angels", "Jealous Again" and "Twice As Hard". Its follow-up, "The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion", confirmed their status as a major rock act. Subsequent releases including "Amorica", "Three Snakes and One Charm", "By Your Side", "Lions", "Warpaint" and the acoustic collection "Croweology" showcased an evolving but consistently rootsy style. Over time they weathered line-up changes and hiatuses, earning honours such as induction into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and a Grammy nomination for "Happiness Bastards". Reunited since 2019, they remain active on stage and in the studio, extending their catalogue with albums like "Happiness Bastards" and "A Pound of Feathers".
