The Horned Frogs are the football team of Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth. They compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision of the NCAA and play in the Big 12 Conference.
TCU claims 2 national titles, from 1935 and 1938, along with 18 conference titles. The Horned Frogs have played in a number of different conferences through the years, with most of their titles coming from times in the Southwest Conference and the Mountain West Conference. They have been a Big 12 member since 2012, earning one championship in 2014 which was shared with Baylor.
Among private colleges, TCU ranks as the 4th best football school of all time. Only 3 other colleges have achieved the feat of playing in all 6 of the College Football Playoff Bowls.
Quarterback Davey O'Brien is the only Horned Frog to be awarded the Heisman Trophy, which he won in 1938. There have been 8 former TCU players inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
