Sutton United are a professional football club based in London, England. Known as the Us, the Yellows, or the Amber and Chocolates due to the colours of their strip, they play their home games at Gander Green Lane, also known as the VBS Community Stadium.
📜 Sutton United History
United were formed in 1898 with the merging of Sutton Guild Rovers and Sutton Association. They were initially a junior side; it was not until 1910 that they decided to become a senior team, having impressed in local competitions.
The club spent many decades playing in the Athenian League and then the Isthmian League, winning multiple league titles in each. In 1979 the club lifted the Anglo-Italian Cup, during its era as a semi-professional competition.
In 2021, the team achieved promotion to the Football League for the first time in their history. They reached the EFL Trophy final in their first season, but they were defeated by Rotherham United.
