Stereolab, originating from London, United Kingdom, is an influential band known for their unique blend of indie pop, alternative rock, and experimental pop. Founded in 1990 by Tim Gane and Laetitia Sadier, the band became renowned for their avant-garde sound that incorporates elements of 1960s pop, jazz, and electronic music. Over the years, they've been recognised for their innovative use of analogue synthesisers and the blending of various musical genres. Their debut album, "Peng!", released in 1992, set the tone for their experimental style. Stereolab gained critical acclaim with albums such as "Mars Audiac Quintet" and "Emperor Tomato Ketchup", with the latter containing some of their most enduring singles like "The Noise of Carpet". Despite taking a hiatus in 2009, they re-formed in 2019, continuing to tour and release music.
