St. Louis City are a Major League Soccer club who play their home games at Energizer Park. They ply their trade in MLS' Western Conference.
History
St. Louis debuted as an MLS expansion franchise in 2023. The city had been considered for an MLS franchise since 2007, when they were among the possible destinations for a proposed relocation of Real Salt Lake, who ultimately stayed put with a new stadium.
The club was founded in 2019, with talks of an MLS expansion team having been accelerated by the Rams NFL team's move to Los Angeles in 2016.
St. Louis won each of their first 5 matches, an MLS record, and ultimately went on to win the Western Conference in their debut season having won a total of 17 games, also a record for an MLS expansion club.
