Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli - more commonly known simply as Napoli - is a professional football team based in Naples, Italy, competing in the top division of Italian football, Serie A.
Formed in 1926 when it was known as Associazione Calcio Napoli, the club struggled to find success in its early years, however, in its history, Napoli has won a number of Serie A campaigns, Coppa Italia titles, and Supercoppa Italiana championships. The club has played its home games at the Stadio San Paolo since 1959. Following Maradona's death in 2020, the stadium was renamed Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, a nod to the club's links with the Argentine legend. In 2023, Napoli won the Serie A title, a feat they last achieved in 1990, and became titleholders again for the first time since the days of Diego Maradona.
