The Redhawks are the football team of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. They compete in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) of the NCAA and play in the Ohio Valley Conference.
📜 Southeast Missouri State Redhawks History
Southeast Missouri State fielded its first football team in the early 1900s. In 1912, the Redhawks joined the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), which later became a Division II conference in the NCAA.
The program claimed 16 conference titles in the MIAA between 1937 and 1988. In 1991, the college became a member of the Ohio Valley Conference and moved up to Division I-AA level (now FCS).
The Redhawks play their home games at Houck Stadium.
