Sevendust is an American metal band from Atlanta, Georgia, United States, known for blending alternative metal, nu metal, hard rock and post-grunge influences with soulful vocals. Formed in 1994 by bassist Vinnie Hornsby, drummer Morgan Rose and guitarist John Connolly, the line-up solidified with vocalist Lajon Witherspoon and guitarist Clint Lowery. After early incarnations under the names Snake Nation, Rumblefish and Crawlspace, they adopted the name Sevendust and released their self-titled debut album "Sevendust" in 1997.
The band built a reputation as a powerful live act and achieved wider recognition with the gold-certified albums "Home" and "Animosity" at the turn of the millennium. Subsequent releases such as "Seasons", "Alpha", "Cold Day Memory", "Black Out the Sun", "Kill the Flaw", "All I See Is War", "Blood & Stone", "Truth Killer" and "One" have reinforced their status as a consistent force in modern heavy music. Their single "Thank You" earned a nomination for Best Metal Performance at the Grammy Awards, underscoring their enduring impact.
