If you want to stay close to the stadium, look for accommodation around Piata Muncii station, which is a 20-minute walk or 10 minutes on public transport from the venue. If you're looking to make more of the city, considering staying in the Old Town for easy access to restaurants and bars (30 minutes to the stadium on public transport) or in the northern part of Sector 4 for the parks and architecture (45 minutes to the stadium on public transport).

The Old Town is the hub of sightseeing in the city and therefore is home to a large percentage of accommodation. Options range from the heights of luxury on Calea Victoriei boulevard to budget-friendly family-run hotels and hostels. Regardless of what you choose, you will always be close to restaurants, bars, and attractions in Old Town, making it the best "all-rounder" area of the city.

Cismigiu is located just outside of the Old Town and near one of the city's best public parks, so it's perfect for people who want to be close to the main attractions but still be surrounded by some fresh air and green space.

Trendy Tineretului is a great district to stay in if you are interested in seeing a hip side of the city, while Primăverii has a reputation for elegance and is the perfect place to base yourself if you'd like to see what it's like to be a high society local during your trip.

Piata Romana is another great district to stay in, especially if you enjoy shopping or hanging out at hip cafes and restaurants.

About Arena Națională

Romania's premier football stadium, Arena Națională, is located in Bucharest and serves as the home ground for the country's national team and one of the capital city's most storied football clubs, Steaua Bucharest. With a capacity of 55,634, it is Romania's largest stadium.

📜 History

The stadium opened in 2011, replacing the original National Stadium on the same site, which was demolished several years earlier.

The following year, it hosted the UEFA Europa League final, and it also hosted matches at UEFA Euro 2020 as well as being a regular host of other high-profile matches such as the Romanian Cup Final. It has also been used as the venue for The International – the annual Dota 2 world championship Esports event – in 2021.

In addition to sporting events, the stadium has also been the setting for concerts from such musical acts as Ed Sheeran, Metallica, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
