The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships are competitions in the rhythmic gymnastic discipline for qualifying gymnasts from across the world. Although there are development programs aimed at adapting rhythmic gymnastics for men, it is a women’s event.
The World Championships event is one of the 3 tournaments - with the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup and, partially, the Olympic gymnastics competitions - in rhythmic gymnastics officially organised by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). The first edition of the World Championships was held in 1963, and the current event includes both individual and group performances. In even non-Olympic years and the year before the Olympics, a team event is also contested.
The next edition of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships is due to be held in 2025 in Rio de Janeiro. The event will be hosted at an as-yet-unconfirmed venue within the city's Barra Olympic Park.
