Real Sociedad de Futbol, S.A.D. - more commonly shortened to Real Sociedad, and nicknamed Erreala or Reala - is a Basque professional sports club based in the city of San Sebastián, Basque Country. The Anoeta Stadium (also known as Reale Arena) serves as the venue for its home games.
Established in September 1909, the club used to follow a similar cantera policy as their rivals Athletic Bilbao where they would only sign players from the greater Basque region, however, they have signed some players over the years who do not fit this criteria. The youth academy has seen many great players rise through its ranks including Xabi Alonso and Antoine Griezmann.
