Real Madrid Baloncesto, also known as Real Madrid Basket, is the basketball section of Real Madrid CF from Madrid, Spain. Nicknamed “Los Blancos” and “Los Merengues”, the team plays its home games at the Movistar Arena in the city.
Founded on 8 March 1931, it competes in Spain’s Liga ACB and the pan‑European EuroLeague. Across the decades the side has been a byword for excellence, with eras shaped by figures such as Pedro Ferrándiz and Lolo Sainz and standout players including Clifford Luyk, Dražen Petrović, Arvydas Sabonis, Felipe Reyes and Sergio Llull. Domestically, the club has amassed a record haul of league championships and Copa del Rey triumphs. On the continental stage, it is the most decorated club in European competition, with multiple European Cup/EuroLeague titles, including crowns in "2015", "2018" and "2023".
