Queensland Firebirds are a netball team based in Brisbane, Australia. They play in Suncorp Super Netball.
Formed in 1997, the Firebirds originally competed in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy league as a founding member. Over the course of 11 seasons, the Firebirds' best result was a 4th place finish in 2006. This qualified the team for the playoff series, where they lost in the semifinals to Melbourne Phoenix.
From 2008 to 2016, the Firebirds played in the ANZ Championship, which replaced the Commonwealth Bank Trophy league. The team went undefeated through the whole season in 2011, and between 2011 and 2016 the Firebirds reached 5 Grand Finals and won 3 titles.
When the ANZ Championship was disbanded in 2016, the Firebirds were one of the original Australian teams to be included in the new national netball league, which became Suncorp Super Netball. They have not repeated their successes from the ANZ Championship, but managed a 3rd place finish in 2018 and 5th place in 2021.
The Firebirds play their home games at the Queensland State Netball Centre. They are coached by Megan Anderson and the main team colours are purple and orange.
