The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is a 2-day thoroughbred flat race meeting held annually at the Hippodrome de Longchamp in the outskirts of Paris. It is famous for the Group 1 race of the same name which is the feature race on the Sunday.
The race itself – popularly referred to as the ‘Arc’ – is Europe’s most prestigious race accepting horses of all ages from 3 upwards. It was first run in 1920 and was named after the Parisian monument which had been the scene of the Allies' victory parade the previous year. Due to its respected reputation, Longchamp attracts the greatest racehorses in the world over Arc Weekend. The meeting also features a number of other thrilling races including 7 Group 1 races and the Arabian World Cup; the world’s richest race for purebred Arabian horses.
Whether you’re a savvy racegoer or a punter searching for an enthralling day out, the Arc Weekend at Longchamp is the place to be.
