Phoebe Lucille Bridgers is an American singer, songwriter and producer from Pasadena, California, United States. Working largely in indie rock and indie folk, she is known for confessional, atmospheric songs that blend acoustic guitar with subtle electronics.
After early work in local bands such as Einstein’s Dirty Secret and as bassist in Sloppy Jane, she released her debut solo album "Stranger in the Alps" in 2017, earning critical acclaim for tracks like "Motion Sickness". Her second album "Punisher" followed in 2020, featuring singles including "Garden Song", "Kyoto" and "I Know the End", and bringing her multiple Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist and recognition for "Kyoto".
Bridgers has also recorded with Conor Oberst as Better Oblivion Community Center and with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus in the indie supergroup boygenius, whose 2023 album "the record" and single "Not Strong Enough" won several Grammy Awards. She founded the Saddest Factory Records imprint in 2020 and continues to balance solo releases with collaborations and production work across the alternative and indie scenes.
