Patrick Cantlay is a professional golfer on the PGA Tour, born on 17 March 1992 in Long Beach, California.
History
Cantlay turned professional in 2012, having achieved the world no. 1 amateur golf ranking the year prior.
A back injury suffered in 2013 kept Cantlay out of action for a lengthy period, and he was unable to play golf at all in 2014 or 2015. After successfully returning from his significant absence, Cantlay earned his first PGA Tour victory in 2017.
In 2021, Cantlay picked up back-to-back victories in the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship to win the FedEx Cup, and he was subsequently voted the PGA Tour Player of the Year.
