Olympique Gymnaste Club Nice Côte d'Azur – commonly shortened to OGC Nice or simply to Nice – is a French professional football club based in Nice and currently playing in the country’s top tier Ligue 1. The club plays home games at Stade de Nice, also known as Allianz Riviera.
Founded in July 1904 as Gymnaste Club by Marquis de Massingy d'Auzac who was president of the Fédération Sportive des Alpes-Maritimes, Nice predominantly focused on gymnastics in its early years. However, the football side grew and the club had a successful run of form in the 1950s when it won its 4 Ligue 1 titles. The club’s form has fluctuated since but still competes at the upper ends of the French league system.
