The Nordea Open, also known as the Swedish Open, is a joint ATP and WTA tennis event, staged at Båstad Tennis Stadium. The event is one of the oldest events on the ATP tour, having been held on the same site since 1948. This outdoor event was originally a hard court tournament, but it has since moved to clay; recent champions in Båstad have included clay court specialists Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer, and Casper Ruud.
As well as hosting its illustrious men's draw, the Nordea Open has also included a women's draw since its first edition, with the exception of a slight hiatus between 1991 and 2008. The Nordea Open is now a WTA 125-level event, with past winners including Sue Barker and Serena Williams. The women's draw is traditionally held in the week before the men's draw.
