Niall Horan (full name Niall James Horan, nicknamed "Nialler") is an Irish singer-songwriter from Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland. He first came to global attention in 2010 as one fifth of One Direction on The X Factor, before the group became one of the most successful boy bands of all time.
As a solo artist he leans towards pop infused with folk, soft rock, Americana and country touches, often built around acoustic guitar. His debut album "Flicker" (2017) introduced this warmer, rootsy sound and spawned singles such as "This Town" and "Slow Hands". He followed it with "Heartbreak Weather" (2020) and "The Show" (2023), before expanding his reflective, storytelling style on "Dinner Party" (2026).
Across these records he has released notable songs including "Too Much to Ask", "Nice to Meet Ya", "Heaven" and the duet "Our Song" with Anne-Marie. His work has been recognised with major honours including the American Music Award for New Artist of the Year and the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Breakout Artist in 2017.
