The Next Gen ATP Finals is an annual tennis tournament, founded in 2017. It is comprised of the world's top men's singles players aged 21 and under; it emulates a similar format and style of the prestigious ATP Finals tournament, the illustrious year-ending tournament in which the "next gen" stars' more experienced rivals generally compete.
As well as showcasing the stars of the future, the indoor, hard court tournament is also known for its use of unusual rules, most of which you won't find in normal competitions. These include a speedy 3-minute warm-up at the beginning of matches, live hawk-eye line-calls, coaches talking to players through headsets, and more lenient rules regarding spectators' movements during matches. The Next Gen ATP Finals therefore provides a fun, less formal environment in which to enjoy seeing young, energetic players who will soon be competing for Grand Slams!
From 2017 to 2022, the Next Gen ATP Finals was held at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, however in 2023 the event moved to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia: it will be hosted at an indoor arena within King Abdullah Sport City until at least 2027.
