📜 New Zealand Cricket Team History
Nicknamed the Black Caps, the New Zealand Cricket Team played their first Test in 1930 against England in Christchurch, becoming the fifth country to play Test cricket. From 1930 to 1956, New Zealand had to wait over 26 years to win its first Test match against the West Indies at Eden Park in Auckland. The first ODI they played was against Pakistan in Christchurch during the 1972–73 season. Along with much success, the Black Caps have suffered some agonizing results in recent years, including losses in both the 2019 Cricket World Cup Final and the 2021 T20 World Cup Final.
