The New South Wales Swifts are a netball team based in Sydney, Australia. They play in Suncorp Super Netball.
The Swifts were formed in 2007, when the end of the Commonwealth Bank Trophy league led Netball New South Wales to merge its 2 teams into a single representative for the new ANZ Championship. Sydney Swifts and Hunter Jaegers were combined into the New South Wales Swifts, who went on to win their inaugural season.
Since 2017, the Swifts have played in Suncorp Super Netball, the new Australian national netball league that was founded when the ANZ Championship was disbanded. The league involves 3 teams created in 2016, as well as 5 of the Australian teams who competed in the ANZ Championship.
The Swifts have won 2 championship titles as part of Suncorp Super Netball, in 2019 and 2021. In both of these seasons, the team finished the regular season in 2nd place but went on to triumph in the Grand Final, defeating Sunshine Coast Lightning in 2019 and Giants Netball in 2021.
The team is coached by Briony Akle. They play their home games at the Ken Rosewall Arena in the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre, and the main team colours are red and blue.
