New England Revolution are professional football team who play in Major League Soccer, based in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
History
One of the founding members of Major League Soccer, New England Revolution were founded in 1995 by Robert Kraft, who also owns the New England Patriots NFL team.
Despite regularly achieving strong finishes in the Eastern Conference – including topping it in 2002 and 2005 – MLS Cup glory has proved elusive for the Revolution, who have been runners-up in that competition on multiple occasions including 3 years running from 2005 to 2007.
However, they lifted the US Open Cup for the first time in 2007, and in 2021 the club won its first Supporters' Shield.
