Visiting Rabat
The ancient, white-washed city of Rabat, in the capital of Morocco, has been home to many civilisations over the years, having been ruled by the Phoenicians, Romans, Marinids, and even the French at a point. Memories of its intricate history are spread throughout the city from the famous Kasbah of the Udayas to the Hassan Tower. However, its most recent Islamic influence is what creates the pulse of the city today, particularly in the bustling markets of the Old Medina where you can find all kinds of traditional treasures. As Rabat sits on a hill on the corner of the Bouregreg River and the Atlantic Ocean, it benefits from sensational sea views and a vibrant surf culture.
