Morecambe FC are a professional football club based in Morecambe, England. They are also known as the Shrimps – the seaside town of Morecambe is famous for its seafood, in particular its potted shrimp – and their home ground is Mazuma Stadium.
📜 Morecambe FC History
Morecambe were founded in 1920, spending many years playing in local Lancashire leagues until they reached the Football Conference (now the National League) in 1996. Along the way, they lifted the FA Trophy in 1974.
In 2007 they achieved promotion to the Football League for the first time in their history, beating Exeter City 2-1 in the Conference playoff final.
In 2021 they edged out Newport County 1-0 in the League Two playoff final to reach English football's third tier for the first time.
