The Minnesota Lynx, also known simply as the Lynx, are a professional women's basketball team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Lynx play in the Western Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association and they play their home games at Target Center, which they share with their NBA counterparts, the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Minnesota Lynx History
The Lynx joined the WNBA in 1999 as an expansion team alongside the now-defunct Orlando Miracle.
After an underwhelming first decade, the Lynx entered a transformative new era after appointing Cheryl Reeve as head coach in 2010. Having only reached the playoffs on 2 occasions in their first 12 seasons, the Lynx reached the WNBA Finals 6 times in 7 seasons between 2011 and 2017, winning 4 championships.
The period catapulted the Lynx into contention as one of the WNBA's most successful teams.
