The Blue Raiders are the football team of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. They compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the NCAA and play in the East Division of Conference USA (CUSA).
Middle Tennessee claims 13 conference titles, 11 of which date from the team's time in the Ohio Valley Conference between 1952 and 1998. From 2001 to 2012 the Blue Raiders competed in the Sun Belt Conference, where they won 2 titles. Since 2013 they have played as a member of CUSA, winning 1 division title.
The program has retired the number 14 jersey in honour of quarterback Teddy Morris, who played for the Blue Raiders from 1962 to 1965 and led the team to 3 conference titles.
The team plays their home games in Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium.
