MGK, also known as Machine Gun Kelly and born Colson Baker, is a music artist from Cleveland, United States. He works across hip-hop, pop‑punk, alternative rock and rap rock. Rising through mixtapes and the Cleveland scene, he signed to a major label and issued "Lace Up", followed by "General Admission" and "Bloom". Early breakthroughs included the single "Wild Boy" and the crossover hit "Bad Things" with Camila Cabello.
With "Hotel Diablo" he leaned into darker, introspective rap, and his diss track "Rap Devil" sparked a widely discussed feud. He then pivoted to pop‑punk alongside Travis Barker, releasing "Tickets to My Downfall" and "Mainstream Sellout", both commercial milestones that pushed guitar‑driven music back into the mainstream. Key singles from this era include "Bloody Valentine", "my ex’s best friend", "forget me too" and "I Think I’m OKAY". Recognition has included honours such as a Billboard Music Award for Top Rock Album, MTV Video Music Award for Best Alternative, and an American Music Award for Favourite Rock Artist. In recent years he has continued to blend rap and rock while collaborating widely and expanding his cultural footprint.
