Although the stadium has a dedicated Manchester United Football Ground railway station, matchday services to and from it have not run since 2018 due to health and safety concerns.

Trafford Park is the closest operational station to Old Trafford, 2.3 km (28 min) walk from the stadium.

If arriving at Old Trafford by tram, there are multiple options:

• Red Line (Trafford Park Line) – Wharfside stop · 500 m (6 min) walk
• Red Line (Trafford Park Line) – Imperial War Museum stop · 800 m (10 min) walk
• Green Line (Bury Line) & Purple Line (Altrincham Line) – Old Trafford stop · 850 m (10 min) walk

If you are travelling to Old Trafford by bicycle, there are free cycle racks located at the following car parks:

• N2 (Sir Alex Ferguson Stand)
• E2 (East Stand)
• W2 (West Stand)

Please note, you will need to use your own bike lock. Bicycles must not be secured in any other areas across the stadium site at any time. Bicycles secured outside of authorised cycle racks will be promptly removed, which may result in damage for which the club will not be held liable.

Old Trafford is approximately a 4.0 km (48 min) to 5.0 km (60 min) walk from Manchester city centre, so provided you're prepared for a moderate walk it can be practical to arrive on foot. Likewise, if you're travelling from Salford or Stretford, then the stadium may well be within a 2.0 km (24 min) to 4.0 km (48 min) walk.
