The Ragin' Cajuns are the football team of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. They compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision of the NCAA and play in the West Division of the Sun Belt Conference.
From 1948 to 1970, Louisiana–Lafayette was affiliated with the Gulf States Conference, winning 4 conference championships. After spells in the Southland Conference and as an independent school, the Ragin' Cajuns joined the Big West Conference and won a further 2 titles in 1993 and 1994. Another independent period followed, and in 2001 the college became a member of the Sun Belt Conference, where it has earned 4 conference titles.
The Ragin' Cajuns play their home games at Cajun Field, which has a capacity of 41,426.
