The Laver Cup pits Team Europe against Team World in a thrilling 3-day showdown, unlike any other tennis tournament around! Björn Borg captains Team Europe and John McEnroe captains Team World, with each legend watching over 6 players, all fighting it out to be the first to reach the lucky-for-some 13 points and claim the trophy. With some of the world's best male players on show in both singles and doubles matches, this unique event combines high stakes with blockbuster entertainment, making it a highlight of the annual tennis calendar. Who you support will probably depend mostly on your nationality, but whether you're backing Team Europe or roaring-on Team World, the Laver Cup is a fun and relaxed event with a feel-good atmosphere that's hard to beat!
The Laver Cup, named in honour of Australian tennis legend Rod Laver, was founded with the cooperation of greatest-of-all-time contender Roger Federer – who made his final competitive appearance at the event in 2022. The tournament alternates between a European and Rest of World city, always taking place on a hard-court surface in a roofed venue. After Berlin hosted the 2024 edition the Laver Cup will travel to San Francisco in 2025, where it will be hosted between 19-21 September at the Chase Center.
